CT Technologist - Cardiac Diagnostic Lab - Day/Evening

Full-Time Day/Evening- Mon-Fri, Five (5) 8-hour shifts

Potential for Swing shift 6:00a-2:30p; 11:00a-7:30p Mon-Fri.  Weekends may be a possibility in the future.


Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and under the direction of the Advanced Imaging Cardiologist, performs routine and specialized cardiac CT procedures at an advanced skill level. Performs procedures to produce cardiac computerized tomographic images according to established practices and procedures.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs cardiac CT Scan studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
  • Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
  • Under the directions of the Advanced cardiac CT program coordinator, is responsible for helping schedule patients to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Positions and transfers patients comfortably.
  • Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety protocols.
  • Has passed the CT specialty examination as per ARRT.
  • Prepares and maintains electronic documentation as required by the profession and the department.
  • Appropriately segments and archives images and exams to the PACS archive.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas and/or patient rooms.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains and develops policies, procedures, protocols, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.



  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2 - 3 years as CT Technologist required
    • Canon Aquilion One experience preferred
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree
  • Required Certification:
    • CT Registry required
  • Required Courses:
    • Accredited program in radiologic technology (ARRT) and training in computed tomography procedures
