COVID Vaccination Community Outreach - Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY: 

 The COVID-19 Vaccine Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will build on existing community relationships and forge new ones to assist with achieving WellSpan Health Vaccination Program objectives; function as the community liaison for any organization, housing entity, or community-based agency with whom WellSpan  partners to improve vaccination rates among community members who are less able or less inclined to seek vaccination; and improve community understanding of vaccine safety and effectiveness. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Director Health Disparities and Community Partnerships. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

OUTREACH 

  • Identify community organizations that can support the program objective to reach individuals who may face barriers to vaccine access due to cultural, transportation or disability reasons. Organizations may include churches, homeless shelters, apartment complexes, assisted living establishments, community centers, others. 

  • Make connections, build relationships with key leaders in identified organizations. 

  • Collaborate with leaders and provide consistent support throughout the full cycle clinic process. 

  • Work with community to identify education and information needs. Develop communications strategies for reaching patients with the right information at the right time and place. 

  • Work with mobile clinic teams to inventory existing and potential mobile clinic partners. 

 

CLINIC  COORDINATION 

  • Develop and document future mobile clinic schedules based on organizational needs and internal resource availability, including second dose events. Share broadly. 

  •  Collaborate with mass-event schedulers or community partner organizations to determine strategic fit and resource allocation for WellSpan Health.  

  • Identify back-up plans for inclement weather, call-ins, and last-minute cancellations. 

  • Partner with registration teams to ensure quality documentation through entire event cycle. 

  • Coordinate mobile clinic work across the system and serve as central contact for mobile clinic work. Track clinic data; prepare reports on partners and community members vaccinated. 

  • Maintain awareness of vaccine eligibility, never compromising guidelines. 

  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times throughout event cycle. 

 

 

EDUCATION:  A bachelor’s degree in Business or HealthCare administration or equivalent experience is preferred. Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred.  

 

EXPERIENCE: Must have 2-4 years’ experience serving various community populations either in a clinical or social work-related capacity. Excellent communication skills including oral and written comprehension and expression. Ability to work under tight time constraints, often extending hours in evenings and weekends. Willing to travel within WellSpan service area. Ability to work cooperatively with all domains associated with the program initiatives. Event planning skills; multitasking skills. 

 

FUNDING:  this position is a one-year grant-funded opportunity with possible renewals.
