Job Description:

Under general supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Develops or modifies moderately complex information systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Performs analysis of business and user needs and documents requirements for business solutions.
  2. Coordinates implementation of departmental systems, including completion of workflow analysis and establishment of benchmarks for determining successful completion of project(s).
  3. Evaluates current departmental procedures and makes recommendations for reengineering to best utilize capabilities of new business systems and enhance departmental productivity, performance and accuracy.
  4. Monitors daily activity, resolves problems, develops new methodologies, and interfaces with vendors in developing solutions to problems and submitting enhancement requests with subsequent follow up.
  5. Prepares documentation for, and provides implementation training as required.
  6. Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.
  7. Researches availability of other internal and external database sources to ensure most current and complete information is available to appropriate departments and managers.
  8. Guides and advises less experienced Business Systems Analysts.

 

Qualifications

  • Notes:
    • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3 - 5 years

 

  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree

 

  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Accounting, business administration, or computer science
    • Strong SQL or Crystal Reports Experience preferred
    • Lawson experience is preferred but not mandatory

 

  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and problem solving/analytical skills; significant knowledge of systems
