General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Business Office Manager, provides administrative support for the organization by performing a variety of secretarial/clerical duties such as reception, scheduling and transcription.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are essential job accountabilities:

1. Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.

2. Greets and registers patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

3. Schedules patient appointments within established parameters.

4. Coordinates with appropriate personnel to facilitate creation of the surgical schedule and to ensure that needed equipment, supplies, personnel, and patient information is available for procedures. Prepares surgical schedule.

5. Creates medical records for new patients.

6. Keeps patient records current.

7. Establishes and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis.

8. Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.

9. Opens and routes incoming mail; distributes correspondence and other material to staff.




Minimum Education:   High School or G.E.D.

Minimum Experience:  3 - 6 months

Req Cert/Registration:  BLS Certification

Pref Field Of Expertise: Business office and/or receptionist experience

Req Course(s)/Training Medical terminology
