Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Manager-Data Management, assesses data reporting needs and develops reports and dashboards for Project One applications, utilizing best practices as established by vendor, project and WellSpan. Understands enterprise needs and application data as used by WellSpan and for coordination of Project One clinical or revenue cycle reporting activities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Assesses organizational, departmental and program needs to ensure that report development and staffing for applications reporting and dashboard development meets project and organizational requirements and system goals. Aids other team members.
  2. Effectively prioritizes development work within domain priorities, setting direction for other team members.
  3. Utilizing appropriate tools, designs, develops, validates and test reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and that they appropriately meet/exceed needs.
  4. Works within guidelines aligned with vendor and enterprise build, security, and data segregation strategies.
  5. Defines procedures for the team to implement standards coming from the BI Specialists.
  6. Adheres to established processes, including request, triage, prioritization, testing, publishing, and validation of data requests.
  7. Follows policies and best practices established by the Analytics Center of Excellence
  8. Collaborates with the Enterprise Data Warehouse team to ensure that Epic data is integrated system-wide.
  9. Works in close communications with application and Cogito team to close reporting gaps.
  10. Leads coordination of training team to ensure end-user comfort and satisfaction with data and tools.
  11. Maintains the centralized report inventory, WellPedia WIKI and request tracker tools.
  12. Continuously updates personal training, performance improvement and technical skills and knowledge. Advises other team members on relevant training.
  13. Reviews upgrade documentation related to analytics tools and content, and provides feedback on how to implement, disseminate, and train the changes. Participates in testing/training of upgrades as applicable to established reports and dashboards developed.
  14. Learns, understands and demonstrates skill in use of reporting tools as designated and new data needs arise, including but not limited to: Clarity reports; Business Intelligence Tools (Cubes); Cogito Data Warehouse; Extract Framework: Metric Framework/Benchmarking; Radar; Registry Framework and Data Marts; Reporting Workbench; SlicerDicer; the Microsoft B.I. Stack.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 5 years, preferably in healthcare using Epic reporting and data management tools preferred
    • Power BI experience is strongly preferred
    • Experience in Tableau will also be considered
    • Strong SQL background
    • Python experience a major plus
    • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
    • Experience working within Azure or other cloud computing platforms

 

  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree

 

  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Business Intelligence, Data reporting

 

  • Required Certification:
    • Applicable Epic Certification(s) for application(s) supported must be achieved within 6 months of hire date.

 

  • Skills:
    • High level analytical and decision making skills; excellent organizational and interpersonal relationship skills; strong customer-service and teamwork orientation; project management; excellent written and oral communications skills; troubleshooting skills: (analytical and logical approach to solving problems)
