Regional Breast Surgery Opportunity

WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a fellowship trained Breast Surgeon to provide care to the residents of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. This is an opportunity to be employed by a mature, well-established medical group of 1,300+ providers.  WellSpan is a non-profit and physician-led organization with a collaborative culture.  Specific focus on a high-quality patient care, physician well-being and patient experience.

 

Position details:

  • Candidates required to be board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained at a certified breast surgery program
  • At WellSpan’s Ephrata Community Hospital (ECH) and Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH), you’ll enjoy support of well-trained specialists including: medical oncology, plastic surgery and radiation oncology
  • The oncology team collaborates with Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center
  • There will be NO general surgery call
  • Lancaster and Lebanon Counties are experiencing a large influx of young families and retirees from the major metropolitan areas of the northeast
  • The combined population of this region is approximately 635,000
  • Recent new home sales saw a 38% increase over 2017
  • Tremendous potential, as breast cases are currently migrating outside the counties
  • Large primary care & OB/GYN referral base will ensure steady practice growth
  • The employed General Surgery groups at ECH & GSH enjoy a loyal referral base
  • They’re fully supportive of adding a fellowship trained breast surgeon to the region
  • WellSpan Health made a full transition to EPIC in 2017
  • The successful candidate will help develop/support accredited breast programs
  • Opportunities for teaching family practice residents and medical students
  • Practice will become established at GSH and grow to include ECH
