Job Description:

Under general supervision, repairs, tests, calibrates and maintains a variety of medical equipment, such as but not limited to: physiological monitors, nurse call systems, defibrillators, EKG machines etc.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountabilities:

  1. Performs preventative maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing and corrects problems encountered.
  2. Analyzes electronic equipment for cause(s) of failure; isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts.
  3. Uses available test equipment to test functioning of all medical equipment; troubleshoots functioning problems and repairs medical devices.
  4. Makes necessary operational adjustments to electronic equipment and takes sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements.
  5. Responds to emergency calls from critical care areas; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs hardware as needed.
  6. Works with equipment manufacturers on repair work and orders parts needed for equipment repair and maintenance.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2 - 4 years
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Certification:
    • CBET Certification
  • Physical Demands:
    • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry 11 to 25 lbs)
    • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
    • Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
