Position Summary:

General Summary:

The Behavioral Health Office Assistant will operate according to general guidelines and procedures to perform a variety of secretarial functions.


Required Skills

A high school diploma/GED is required. Requires a minimum of one year’s progressively more responsible related work experience in order to gain full knowledge of secretarial and office procedures.

Ability to utilize a variety of software applications to type statistical tables, forms, reports, and non-routine correspondence. Ability to type dictated material. Ability to type and/or transcribe at a level normally acquired through completion of one year of course work in touch-typing which can be obtained in high school. Ability to type material that contains a variety of medical and psychiatric terminology.

Requires interpersonal skills, both verbal and listening, necessary to handle sensitive situations and confidential information. The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
