Job Summary:

The Behavior Analyst (BA) is a senior member of the ABA children’s community based program whose primary role is to develop the clinical skills of the clinicians working in the program. The BA is assigned to a team of clinicians that includes BCBAs, Behavior Consultants, BCaBAs, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians, providing office based and on-site supervision to improve the quality of the services being delivered. The BA will be expected to design behavior analytic interventions, conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, and effectively supervise the implementation of the intervention methods for a range of cases and settings. The BA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis.


Program Description:

Located in Lancaster County, the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) is a regional center of excellence that serves patients and families in Central Pennsylvania. We have a multidisciplinary team (from the fields of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, applied behavior analysis, social work, and counseling) with recognized expertise in the treatment of the social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disability (ID).  We offer center-based services, which include diagnostic evaluations, short-term consultation and ongoing treatment. In addition, we provide community-based services, which include ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) behavioral treatment in the home, school, and community for children and adults.

Required Skills
  • Interpersonal verbal and listening skills are required to communicate effectively with patients and families and with other interagency team members.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and qualify for Philhaven driving privileges. Must obtain PA drivers’ license in accordance with PA laws if license upon hire is out-of-state.
  • Analytical skills are necessary for the collection and assessment of psychosocial data, interpretation of these data and the ongoing review of treatment efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to observe patient behavior and dynamics in order to prepare and review written documentation as required.
  • Knowledge of and ability in the care and management of the unique needs of individuals with developmental disorders.
  • Must demonstrate a strong professional interest in being a part of a multidisciplinary team that specializes in the assessment and treatment of the social, emotional and behavioral needs of children and adolescents with developmental disorders such as Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation from one client to another.
Required Experience
  1. A master’s degree from a board approved, accredited college or university, including a major course of study in school, clinical or counseling psychology, special education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or another related field.
  2. Certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  3. Licensure through the PA State Board of Medicine to practice as a Behavior Specialist or a professional license with the scope of practice which includes the diagnostic assessment and treatment of ASD.
  4. At least one year of experience in providing Applied Behavior Analysis services and experience in developing/implementing behavioral analytic treatment plans.
