Job Summary:

The Behavior Analyst - BHRS conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results. The BA-BHRS designs and supervises behavior analytic interventions. The BA-BHRS is able to effectively develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods for use in unfamiliar situations and for a range of cases. The BA-BHRS teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. The BA-BHRS supervises the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and others who do not carry a Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification that implement behavior analytic interventions if they are not certified.

 

Program Description:

Located in Lancaster County, the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) is a regional center of excellence that serves patients and families in Central Pennsylvania. We have a multidisciplinary team (from the fields of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, applied behavior analysis, social work, and counseling) with recognized expertise in the treatment of the social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disability (ID).  We offer center-based services, which include diagnostic evaluations, short-term consultation and ongoing treatment. In addition, we provide community-based services, which include ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) behavioral treatment in the home, school, and community for children and adults.

Required Skills
  • Interpersonal verbal and listening skills are required to communicate effectively with patients and families and with other interagency team members.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and qualify for Philhaven driving privileges. Must obtain PA drivers’ license in accordance with PA laws if license upon hire is out-of-state.
  • Analytical skills are necessary for the collection and assessment of psychosocial data, interpretation of these data and the ongoing review of treatment efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to observe patient behavior and dynamics in order to prepare and review written documentation as required.
  • Knowledge of and ability in the care and management of the unique needs of individuals with developmental disorders.
  • Must demonstrate a strong professional interest in being a part of a multidisciplinary team that specializes in the assessment and treatment of the social, emotional and behavioral needs of children and adolescents with developmental disorders such as Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation from one client to another.
Required Experience
  • A master’s degree from a board approved, accredited college or university, including a major course of study in school, clinical or counseling psychology, special education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or another related field.
  • Certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Based off of the program - Licensure through the PA State Board of Medicine to practice as a Behavior Specialist or a professional license with the scope of practice which includes the diagnostic assessment and treatment of ASD
  • At least one year of experience in providing Applied Behavior Analysis services and experience in developing/implementing behavioral analytic treatment plans.
