Starting rate of $16.25 - $20+ per hour  based on experience

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Master Baker, performs a variety of tasks and operations to prepare and bake specialty food items, following standard practices and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares and bakes items such as muffins, desserts, cakes and pastries, including icings and frostings, using standardized recipes. Monitors baking process, cuts and portions finished baked goods for distribution.
  2. Reviews daily menu and assembles supplies and baking equipment as needed for daily baking activities.
  3. Consults with supervisors concerning special items, evaluation of new recipes, etc.
  4. Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment or other unusual conditions.
  5. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  6. Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.
  7. Attends meetings as required.
  8. Performs other related duties as identified.
  9. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  10. Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
  11. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3 - 6 months
  • Minimum Education:
    • Less Than High School
  • Physical Demands:
    • Moderate physical effort (lift/carry 11 to 25 lbs)
    • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
