Athletic Trainer II
Location: 207 Blooming Grove Road Hanover, PA 17331
Schedule: Day/Evening
Job Description:
Under general physician supervision, provides basic athletic training services for patients/athletes at designated setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a commitment to patients, visitors and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Maintains the cleanliness of work areas as required.
- Maintains professional growth and development.
- Provides outstanding service to all patients, providers, coworkers and customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Participates in mentoring of fellow staff and students as defined by clinical ladder.
- Performs additional administrative duties as defined by the clinical ladder, including, but not limited to, process improvement, orientation, competency/skills training, participation in peer/performance reviews and leading in-services and/or other learning opportunities.
- Knowledge of various computer software applications.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as identified.
Qualifications
- Notes:
- Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum Experience:
- 1 - 2 years. Entry-level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.
- Minimum Education:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in health related field with current BOC certification
- Required Certification:
- Licensed or license eligible in PA as an Athletic Trainer; CPR certification
- Required Courses:
- Graduate of a Commission on the Accredited of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program or graduate of an athletic trainer internship program
- Physical Demands:
- Must be able to assist with or transfer patients of various weights/heights.
- Must be able to push carts containing medical and athletic equipment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.
- Must be able to carry medical, first aid and athletic training kit and coolers for long distances.
- Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Occasional heavy physical effort (lift/carry 26 to 50 lbs)
