General Summary

Responsible for monitoring patient comfort before, during, and after surgical or medical procedures through the administration of anesthesia and other medications. Administers anesthetics during surgery and adjusts them as needed. Monitor patients' vital signs.

WellSpan Medical Group is seeking BE/BC Anesthesiologists to join our growing practice headquartered at Ephrata Community Hospital near Lancaster. WellSpan Health is a nationally recognized, integrated health system that serves the communities of south-central Pennsylvania. Our strategy is team-based and focused on patient safety, quality, and physician well-being.

Position Highlights:

  • Join an experienced, well-respected & collegial team of 5 physicians.
  • Anesthesiologists supervise and collaborate with 20 CRNAs.
  • Ephrata Community Hospital is a busy 141-bed hospital.
  • Currently running 8 ORs with a system goal of 12 ORs.
  • A 34,000 square foot ASC is being built at CityGate Corporate Center.
  • This state-of-the-art surgery center is scheduled to open in summer 2024.
  • The emergency department sees approximately 30,000 patients per year.
  • Variety of cases including bariatric, breast, cardiac, general, gyn, orthopedic, etc.
  • Labor epidurals are done primarily by CRNAs.
  • Call is taken from home, shared equally and allows for work/life balance.
  • Post call is protected time.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required or
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Upon Hire Required and
  • Successful completion of an Anesthesiology residency. Upon Hire Required
