General Summary:



Under the general supervision of the Director of Knowledge Management, acts as a conduit to ensure that strategic business requirements are translated into actionable development requests for BI developers and architects. Ensures that WellSpan leadership has the tools needs to use data to drive business decisions close to real time. The position spans both the EMR operational reporting, and our Knowledge Management analytical work. Epic is the primary data source but will include other applications and data sets as needed.



Duties and Responsibilities:




1. Meets with WellSpan Leadership to review analytics needs and gaps

2. Educates leadership on the available data and tools

3. Works with reporting subject matter experts to identify the exact needs of report consumers

4. Works with the Epic BI team and Knowledge Management team to specify and prioritize new work

5. Works with Application Reporting Liaisons to ensure reporting content is accurate, and gaps are addressed

6. Works with the Reporting Workbench and Radar administrators to review and approve existing templates, dashboards, components standard metrics and custom SQL metrics, and specifies any needed additional content

7. Assists the principal trainer with developing training curriculum and training power reporting users.

8. Identifies subject matter experts to attend reporting content design sessions

9. Assists with translation of end-user workflow-based report requests to specific data points required for report development

10. Specifies Radar dashboards for report consumers with the support of the Radar administrator

11. Specifies Reporting Workbench reports, templates, and extracts for the application

12. Assembles dashboards and components for specific audiences

13. Completes Radar setup for custom SQL metrics, working with BI Developers

14. Ensures that consumers are satisfied with reports and distribution tools

15. Performs post-live analysis and evaluates overall consumer satisfaction with reports

Required Skills

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree



Minimum Experience

5 years



Min Field of Expertise Business Analytics

Req Course(s)/Training COG170, Cogito Fundamentals; COG200v, Cogito Tools Administration

 Certification in Fundamentals for at least one application



Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Strong data analysis.

Project management or facilitation.

Ability to communicate effectively with the C-Suite.

Ability to understand BI concepts and communicate with the BI teams.

Familiarity with Epic reporting tools.

Familiarity with the Foundation System reports available for the applications they are working with.

Knowledge of custom reporting content developed by WellSpan. Broad knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Experience with SQL programming is not necessary, but may be an advantage communicating with the team
