WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Ventricular Assist Device Program in York, PA.  Employment with WellSpan Health allows you to enjoy a fulfilling career in an organization with strong physician leadership, a culture of support and a focus on patients.  This is a specialized role that cares for a clinically complex high risk cardiology patient population, specifically, patients with ventricular assist devices (artificial hearts).

About the Position

  • Exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established team which includes 4 heart failure cardiologists, 1 VAD RN and 1 VAD nurse practitioner; Cardiology or ICU experience preferred but not required.
  • Full time position providing direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on patients with ventricular assist devices, or screening patients that may benefit from such.
  • The position includes rotations of inpatient rounding and outpatient office hours both with support of Heart Failure Cardiologists.
  • Schedule will average 4, 10 hour days with a call rotation which involves phone calls and rare call backs to the hospital
  • Opportunities to lead quality, safety, utilization and patient care projects
