WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Advanced Heart Failure team in York, PA. This is a specialized role that cares for a clinically complex high risk cardiology patient population, specifically, patients with ventricular assist devices (artificial hearts).
About the Position
- Exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established team; Cardiology or ICU experience preferred.
- Full time position providing direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on heart failure patients with ventricular assist devices, or screening patients that may benefit from such.
- Dynamic position including office clinic hours, inpatient rounding, Operating room and procedure support, patient and family education, case review preparation, inter-disciplinary rounds, (including ICU) and care coordination.
- Monday – Friday Schedule: with call rotation, typically, 1:4 weeks, with some in person hospital response requirements.
- Opportunities to lead quality, safety, utilization and patient care projects
- Peer review and team approach to care; work independently with an assigned fellowship trained heart failure cardiologist
- Successful candidate will be energetic, compassionate, and self-motivated
