Absence Management Specialist
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Manager-Absence Management, is responsible for providing business support and expertise for the testing, training, and deployment of the Oracle Absence Management module within the Human Capital Management (HCM). This includes PTO, Sick Leave plans, LOA, Eligibility, Disability, return to work, Interfaces, Workflow, Reporting and Data Conversions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides business expertise in the Absence Management areas, existing workflows, and security controls.
- Supports alignment of standard business processes with WellSpan’s requirements and identifies gaps.
- Supports the execution of key change management activities and identifies and trains change champions.
- Uses system to audit identifying absence plan changes, corrections to plans, accruals, balances, and retroactive actions. Works to ensure accurate and timely corrections.
- Participates in Process Confirmation Workshops to provide pertinent information for the future-state design, as well as to learn, understand, adopt new processes and procedures and identify/confirm reporting requirements.
- Provides support to the Absence Management Lead for Go/No-Go discussions including helping in the assessment to determine readiness of operations, systems, and organization.
- Provides support and guidance to employees, supervisors, and individuals involved on policy, absence plans, absence balances and processes. Evaluates, recommends, and makes adjustments from approved change requests while assisting with absence related concerns.
- Actively engages with other departments within the company, including IT, Benefits, and Employee Health to ensure steady continuation of care.
- Participates and provides input and support for and during conversion, UAT and SIT cycles, scripts, training and cutover plan development and execution.
- Partners with key super users to develop and evolve the applications within the suite while ensuring a stable, productive environment.
- Effectively embraces and leads change, with the ability to lead or work with and on multi-disciplinary teams.
- Motivates team members, system leadership and system end users.
Qualifications

- Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum Experience:
- Experience working with HCM/ERP applications such as Lawson or Oracle; 5+ years’ experience working with or designing business processes in Absence Management: PTO, Sick Leave plans, LOA, Eligibility, Disability, return to work, Interfaces, Workflow, Reporting and Data Conversions
- Strong attention detail and solid organizational skills
- Experience in leave mgmt.
- Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting, HR Management, Business, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Preferred Education:
- Master’s Degree, Accounting, HR Management, Business, Information Technology, or related field
- Skills:
- SDLC or Agile methodology experience; Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments; Ability to successfully develop staff; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Strong analytical skills; Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong time management skills a must
