General Summary

Provides diagnosis and treatment of patients within the scope of practice as defined by all applicable Federal, State and local laws, regulations, protocols, etc. and within the individual Advanced Practice Provider's (APP) particular clinical specialty area, licensure and competency level. Performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures as appropriate.

Pulmonary Critical Care & Sleep Medicine - Chambersburg Hospital

WellSpan Health, an integrated not-for-profit health system serving the communities of South-Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland, is seeking a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Inpatient team in Franklin County. The organization consists of a multispecialty medical group of 220 care locations, eight hospitals, and a growing number of academic clinical affiliations. WellSpan is a team of 20,000 healthcare professionals committed to transforming the health of the communities we serve and educating medicine's next generation of physicians, advanced practice providers, and leaders.

About the Practice

  • Full-time position working 12-hour shifts / 3 or 4 days per week / alternating days and nights
  • Opportunity to join inpatient hospital APP team with seven providers in an 18-bed general ICU
  • See patients in the hospital and intensive care unit
  • Treat patients with various lung and sleep disorders like COPD, asthma, lung cancer, fibrosis, sleep apnea & insomnia
  • Seeking candidate to possess excellent bedside manner and be a patient advocate evaluating patients for hospital follow-ups only

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Masters Degree Nurse Practitioner Required or
  • Bachelors Degree Physician Assistant Required and
  • Masters Degree Physician Assistant Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 1 year Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire Required and
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Nurse Practitioner - board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification Upon Hire Required and
  • Nurse Practitioner - Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners Upon Hire Required or
  • Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited physician assistant program Upon Hire Required
